Technology
Built for the load case above your car.
A carport roof is overhead glazing. That changes the module, the verification and the paperwork. Here is what sits behind the three series.
Glass-glass modules overhead
- Polaris glass-glass modules, 540 Wp on Atlas and Strix (bifacial rear side), 535 Wp on Vela.
- Overhead glazing verified to DIN 18008-1/-2 — the load case that ordinary rooftop modules do not cover.
- 30 years of performance warranty on the module, 15 years on the structure.
- Annual degradation of about 0.4 percent is the assumption behind every yield figure we publish.
Structural design
- Snow load zones 1 to 3 and wind zones 1 to 4 to Eurocode 1 with the German national annex, assigned per district from the DIBt tables; the binding value comes from the site survey.
- Steelwork to EN 1090 execution class EXC2, hot-dip galvanised to ISO 1461; Vela in powder-coated aluminium 6005-T5 with black anodised connectors.
- Foundation from the soil report: concrete pad, bored pile or screw foundation.
- Every project receives a site-specific structural verification for the building permit, not a generic type approval.
Charging infrastructure
- One wallbox per four spaces, at least two, with load management; Atlas and Strix also take DC fast chargers up to 150 kW.
- Cable routes run inside the structure, which keeps trenching in the parking area to the connection towards the building.
- For new non-residential buildings and those undergoing major renovation, German law requires conduit for every third space and at least one charging point above six spaces; the 2026 amendment to the GEIG raises this to half of the spaces and one charging point per five, above five spaces, from 1 January 2027.
- Public charging points can earn revenue through the greenhouse gas quota; the electricity counts at factor three since 2024.
Installation in phases
- Phase 1 foundations, phase 2 structure, phase 3 modules, phase 4 electrical work and handover.
- Work runs section by section, so part of the parking lot stays in use throughout.
- Grid connection, registration in the market master data register and documentation to DIN EN 62446 are part of the scope.
- Two to three weeks on site for twenty spaces; large lots are built in sections, so a hundred-space project runs over several months of site work.
